Baby Shower

In my summer of trips, the next destination was: Montreal!
Canada looks a lot like upstate New York

My mom and I decided to throw a inter-country baby shower for Brandon and Kristen:

l'invitation

I went up to visit a few days early on the train, in order to spend more time with Brandon and Kristen. I was very excited to see Kristen (and Brandon, of course) and to visit again. I took the train up, which was a "pleasant" 13 hour trip. Unfortunately, as soon as I sat down, someone came to sit next to me! I didn't even get five minutes on my own!!

We had lots of things to do to prepare for the baby shower, which meant lots of errands before everyone else got there a few days later.

For the baby shower, we made a diaper cake!

It was pretty simple, but I was really proud of it. I was going to make it more ornate, but we ran out of time and I figured it would be nice to return some of the decorations.

We also made another rainbow cake. Kristen liked the cake I made a few weeks ago so much that we duplicated it, vegan style! We also had vegan puppy chow, lots of fruit, a watermelon full of melons, chips and guacamole, and pasta salad. I don't have too many pictures, because I'm obsessed with Kristen's camera and forgot to get all the pictures from her.

Later that night, we headed down to Le vieux port with Jess, in order to see a little more of the city.

Chinatown

We stumbled into a cute "little" crepe restaurant and had a delicious dinner/dessert. Unfortunately, we had to leave the next day, but we enjoyed the ride back to New York. Luckily, the fact that Joseph forgot his passport and I was desperate for mine to be stamped didn't delay us too much!
